Suction Couch Roll Description

The Suction Couch Roll dewaters the sheet as the felt belt passes through to improve the moisture uniformity of the sheet to the extent required for felt feeding. Suction Couch Rolls are usually heavily countersunk to maximize open porosity and are coated with high wear-resistant rubber or composites to minimize wear on the coating.

Suction Couch Roll Structure

The vacuum roller is composed of two parts: a vacuum chamber and a roll shell.

1. Vacuum chamber: Generally, it is made of tin bronze by centrifugal casting. When the polyester mesh is used, a copper shell coated with glue or stainless steel roller shell is used to prevent corrosion. The roller shell is full of countersunk round holes. The roller shell is connected to the transmission shaft, and the cantilever structure is designed for the need of changing the mesh.
2. Roll shell: Single chamber cast iron structure is commonly used, but the double type and three chambers are also available. Different vacuum degrees can be used for multi-chamber to save dynamic consumption. The upper edge and the inner surface of the roller shell are sealed by airbag and friction strip, and the width adjustment device is set.
